Keeping in Simple in January

For January, I made gluten-free shortbread cookies, which were not the prettiest thing I've created.

I tried to add some "flair" to them by adding a drop flower of cream cheese with sprinkles.

I also made Lemon cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.  I was working on simply frosting them, since I have struggled with them not looking right in the past.

For "flair" here, I spray painted them reddish orange.  Not too exciting, but something for the month of January was done!

Cupcakes

I tried out cupcakes for the first time.  I was unsure on how much batter to place in each cup, so some of them were off in size.  They were very tasty lemon cupcakes with vanilla frosting.

However, the cupcakes themselves are super easy to decorate.  I was kind of disappointed by them.  I did shaggy mums and some other flower I kept calling the Rockstar.

There are cake people, cupcake people, and dessert people.  I am cake people.  However, I now know I can do cupcakes if I need to.
